The Sound Check – One Night Only

As I write this, I’m watching the sound check for the One Night Only Event – part of the 14th Annual GRAMMY Foundation Music Preservation Project. In case you’ve missed my blogs this week, you can read more about that here.

Even though it’s just a warm-up, I’m already blown away by the performance of L.P. singing “Into the Wild.”

To paint the picture, I’m looking at a pianist, percussionist, cellist, violinist, keyboardist, guitarist and about six background singers.  Oh, and L.P. is playing a ukulele – an instrument that up until about thirty seconds ago I never gave it the respect it deserves. She’s amazing.

If this is just a taste of things to come tonight for the event, then I’m expected to get my mind blown.
