How Much Data is Generated in a Minute?

When I saw this headline, I couldn’t click the link fast enough.  As I’ve mentioned once or twice before, storage isn’t something that may have the automatic sex appeal of something like next-gen TV’s, video games or even tablet devices. But these are all things that without storage would be pretty useless.

But when you can take a step back and analyze how much data is being utilized and stored, the numbers are always staggering. Take a look at the infographic below and you’ll see what I mean. But before you do, let me call out a couple things that really caught my attention:

  • 2 million search queries for Google – EACH MINUTE
  • 571 new websites launched – EACH MINUTE
  • 3,600 new photos to Instagram – EACH MINUTE
  • 47,000 App Downloads via Apple – EACH MINUTE

If these statistics don’t blow you away, you’ve probably just watched Jerry Bruckheimer films so you’re used to big bangs.  What are you doing to help contribute to these figures?  Comments welcome below, on Facebook or our Twitter.
