I won’t lie to you; Thanksgiving is one of those holidays I don’t really give a lot of thought to.  While I rank it higher than say, Arbor Day, now that I’m out of grade school, I look at it more as a day off from work and a time to congregate with family and friends, eat, watch a sporting event (or two) and catch up on video games or movies.

It probably doesn’t help that the retail world has glanced over it giving more attention to Halloween for costume purchases and Black Friday/Cyber Monday to kick start the holiday shopping season.

But how much about the history of Thanksgiving do you really know? Well thanks to Today I Found Out, here are ten facts about Thanksgiving that may surprise you.

For those celebrating, have a safe, Happy Thanksgiving.
