Demystifying Big Data – Infographic

Keeping in line with Wednesday’s post about the impact of big data when used for developing the Netflix series House of Cards, for Infographic Friday, I wanted to share this image courtesy of Wipro that further breaks down the concept of big data and it’s varied uses.

If you missed the memo and don’t feel like going to Webster’s, Big Data is data that’s too large or complex to be analyzed by conventional tools or methods.

I’ll just place this image here and let you marinate on the statistics, but one thing I will call out is this:

“The Estimated size of the digital universe in 2011 was 1.8 zettabytes. It is predicted that between 2009 and 2020, this will grow 44 fold to 35 zettabytes per year.

Mind. Blown.

Better back it up!
