My brother-in-blogging, Mark Wojtasiak recently made this post about the importance of hard drive reviews. It was something that from a consumer side really resonated with me and felt was worth calling attention to.
I won’t re-post the entire piece, but do want to call out some highlights.
- Internal hard drive upgrades are not for everyone.
- Consumers seldom (if ever) know what internal drives are integrated into OEM solutions.
- Consumers seldom (if ever) can specify what specific make and model they want the OEM to integrate.
You’ll have to go to the post to get the full details about these explanations; the devil in me just wants to give you the tease.
But the moral of the story is that when you are ready to upgrade from your current hard drive to make sure you do the diligence of exploring the type of drive you’ll want in your system based upon your storage needs.
Give the post a read and let us know what you look for when upgrading your hard drive. Or are hard drive reviews not important to you?
